Matt Udry

Matthew Udry is a cellist from Kenosha, Wisconsin. He currently performs as a fellow with the New World Symphony, an orchestral academy in Miami Beach, FL. Previously, Matt taught cello and performed in Vancouver, Canada, where he has appeared with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Opera, and Pacific Baroque Orchestra. 

Outside of cello performance, Matt enjoys combining his love of music and sound with his interest in technology and computer programming. He has programmed digital audio effects, designed music-making algorithms, and performed works for cello and live electronics. Most recently, he has debuted two new sound installations at the New World Center in Miami Beach, transforming performance spaces into immersive experiences where audience members can move around and explore an electronic soundscape. Prior to studying cello, Matt worked as an acoustic consultant at Arup, advising on the architectural design of recording studios, museums, airports, and other projects.
