Knapweed Team 2026

Founder / Artistic + Executive Director

Grace oversees all aspects of the festival, from artistic planning and personnel management to community relations, group activities, and more. She is thrilled to present the inaugural summer of Knapweed Performing Arts Festival alongside the phenomenal artists and creative team in the very special place of Northwest Montana where her family raised her. Grace will be present in this administrative role, but will also appear on all concerts as an artist (violin) this summer.

Creative Team / On-Site Photography + Videography

Veronica provides her skills and background in arts administration and creative direction to the Knapweed festival through preparation work for print materials and website design, as well as being of the on-site photographers and videographers during the festival. Being a musician herself (violin), Veronica brings a unique perspective of anticipating the needs of the artists, while also keeping the administrative vision of the festival in focus and capturing it creatively.

Creative Team / Lead Design Curator

Sylvia is responsible for the behind-the-scenes design efforts of the festival, including the logo, artwork, color palette, and font creation. She has years of experience with art curation, event planning, and brand design. As someone who has experienced Montana at Three River Ranches, she hones the familiarity of place to execute the brand aesthetics, helping bring Grace’s artistic vision for Knapweed to life.

Curt Alexander

Equipment Manager / On-Site Assistant

Curt serves as the on-the-ground manager of equipment, transportation, and space use coordination. With years of work experience in construction and management, as well as volunteer work in schools, as a volunteer firefighter, and varied nonprofit organizations, he brings logistical and practical skills to the Knapweed team. As Grace’s father and co-owner of Three River Ranches, he also will help lead aspects of the conservation awareness and education aspect of the festival.

Programming Committee

Gabrielle brings her expertise as a pianist spanning many musical genres and her experience as a touring musician in a variety of urban and rural communities across Canada and the United States to her role at Knapweed on the programming committee. Alongside Sam and Grace, Gabrielle has assisted in creating the programs for each of the 2026 concerts. Gabrielle will also be an artist (piano) this summer.

Librarian / Programming Committee

Sam is contributing to the Knapweed team as both a member of the programming committee, as well as the music librarian for the festival. He brings his experience as a conductor, composer, and trumpet player to guide artistic planning decisions at Knapweed, as well as ensuring ease for musicians through well-organized part distribution.

Photographer in Residence

Cy will serve as the primary photographer-in-residence for Knapweed 2026. Alongside Veronica, Cy will work to capture the personnel, artistic and natural aspects of the festival. He brings his six years of experience as a portrait and event photographer to Knapweed this summer!
