Sayako Leznoff
Sayako Leznoff is a Vancouver-based oboist and recent graduate of the University of British Columbia, where she completed her Bachelor of Music in Performance. She has studied with Dr. Kristen Cooke and Geronimo Mendoza, and is frequently seen performing with the UBC Symphony Orchestra and the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra.
She has worked with celebrated artists including Katherine Needleman, Theodore Baskin, Alyssa Morris, Erin Hannigan, James Campbell, Robert Taylor, and Ian Parker. In addition to performing, she has coached ensembles at the Vancouver Academy of Music and maintains a private oboe studio teaching students across the Lower Mainland. During her time at UBC, Sayako served as Vice President Finance of the Music Undergraduate Students’ Association for two years before being elected President for the 2025/26 fiscal year.
Alongside her work in modern oboe performance, Sayako also performs on baroque oboe. Outside of music, she is the owner and creator of mochi&midnights, a small business focused on handmade stickers and keychains. She is also fluent and literate in both French and Japanese.
